Back to Genesis

I am going thru a study of bad girls of the Bible and Eve is the first girl to study and while I was reading related scripture I came across Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said "The man has become like on of us, knowing good and evil. Who is us? I am really stuck on that. Any ideas?

  1. Couple of theories:

Angels were made before people so it could be referring to God and his angels.

Or God could be referring to himself in the plural as the Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

  2. My theory is that God was referring to himself and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. At one point during the creation, Gen.1:26, God said, "Let us make man in our image." The Jewish rabbis down in Atlanta said the same thing you did, John, that God was referring to the angels. I don't think the angels were up to creating man. Just my opinion.

  3. It may not be that the angels had the power to create, but maybe God let them have some say in the creative process, since we know God as a relational being. Similar to the way God let Adam in on naming the animals and the creation of Eve. Not that Adam did any creating but there was involvement and engagement that God had with him in the process.
